These instructions are common to devices running Microsoft Windows versions 7, 8.x, 10.

Windows Operating System Setup Instructions

  



Open the wireless configuration settings for your device. The easiest way to do this is to double click the wireless icon

displayed in the system tray located in the lower right corner of your screen.  


You'll see a list of available wireless networks.


Step 1: Click on WMUCooley.


Step 2: Check the box “connect automatically.”


Step 3: Click Connect


Step 4: Enter your login information. Enter your email address as username.  Example - username@cooley.edu. The password is your portal password.


Step 5: You will be prompted by a security certificate. Trust / Click Connect

Have to update your password? Windows decided to use your Windows password?

Try this:

Right-click on your wireless connection in the lower right corner

Go to Network and Sharing Center


  1. On the left click on Manage Wireless Networks.

  2. Right-click on the WMUCooley network work and select

  3. Properties - click on the name to see it - click on the Security tab

  4. Click on Settings Right-click on the WMUCooley network work and select Properties - click on the name to see it - click on the Security tab

  5. Click on Configure

  6. Uncheck the box in front of “Automatically use my Windows logon …”

  7. Click OK and OK again.

  8. In the remaining Window “WMUCooley Wireless Network Properties” while still on the Security tab

    1. Click on Advanced Settings

    2. Click on Replace Credentials

    3. Enter your Cooley Email address

    Enter your Portal password

Exit setup
Sometimes it is necessary to restart your laptop before the settings take effect.
